Living in Purpose is our creative way to raise additional funding for at-risk youth outreach while encouraging youth & young adults to endure their pain & turn it into purpose.
According to the Center for Disease and Control, suicide is the second leading cause of death among children ages 10-24. Beyond that, many other youth & young adults are turning to drugs, sexual promiscuity, and violence in an effort to numb their pain. This story of hope & God's grace will inspire those struggling with life's challenges to endure their pain instead of exiting! This film is guaranteed to equip youth & young adults with the tools necessary to overcome their challenges & discover God's purpose.
This documentary is titled after Yannik McKie’s autobiography and tells the story of a young boy who was raised in an upper-middle class family. His father was a high-ranking executive for Delta Airlines in Atlanta, GA and his mother was a devoted stay-at-home mom. At the age of 11, Yannik learns both his parents are H.I.V. positive & at the age of 15, Yannik became one of the first children in the U.S. to lose both of his parents to AIDS.
This tragic and painful turn in Yannik's young life pushes him out of innocence & into a life of dangerous criminal activity, drugs & depression. Amazingly, through it all, Yannik discovered that inside pain was a gift of purpose! With this different perspective of pain, Yannik overcame his challenges & as a result began changing the lives of hurting children around the world & sharing the message of enduring suffering in order to strengthen our relationship with Jesus Christ!
